At the SPIRITED Collective, we strive to maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community. Please read and acknowledge the following tenets of our code of conduct.
Core values and expected conduct
This is an interfaith group with members who hold diverse religious and spiritual beliefs, including no belief. We respect each other’s beliefs and opinions.
The Collective as a whole does not endorse any particular political group or religious or spiritual ideologies. From time to time, individual members may propose or engage in activities that do align with specific religious or spiritual beliefs. Any views of individual members do not necessarily reflect those of funders that support the Collective’s wide range of research activities. Likewise, the views of funders do not necessarily reflect those of any individual member.
Unacceptable conduct
We do not engage in behaviors that are disrespectful or harmful (e.g., personal attacks, insults, threats, shaming, and unnecessary/rude public critiques) or discriminatory toward others (e.g., sexism, racism, ageism, ableism, or other protected characteristics).
We do not tolerate behaviors such as pushing or imposing beliefs on others, or implying that any given belief system or religious/spiritual tradition is superior to any other or is necessarily held by everyone.
Reporting and enforcement
We collectively share responsibility for upholding these values and for ensuring that the environment is safe and welcoming. If there are issues, members are invited to contact any administrators (or other members they trust) to seek resolution. All reports will be treated as confidential information that will not be shared beyond involved parties.
Processes for conflict resolution may include conversations with administrators to understand the issue and/or mediated conversations between multiple parties.
Outcomes may include requests to adhere to group norms and values or, in egregious or repeated cases, dismissal or temporary suspension from the Collective, or other measures deemed appropriate for the situation.
